The Hawke’s Bay Independent Flood Review - Pae Matawai Parawhenua has involved significant information gathering and fact-finding.

The Panel has reviewed a range of technical information and reports provided by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council (HBRC) and information provided by those who directly experienced the impacts of the cyclone flooding.

On 16 February 2024 the Panel raised a number of follow-up questions with Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, in line with the Review process. The Regional Council responded to those questions on 5 April. The report of the Review findings and recommendations is expected to be presented to HBRC by the end of June 2024.
